The River Mersey was proportionally more polluted than the Great Pacific Garbage Patch – containing equivalent to 2 million pieces of microplastic per square km.

UPSTREAM is a short film that follows Greenpeace #PlasticFreeRivers campaign + investigation, where 13 major rivers across the UK for were tested for microplastics. Working along alongside the Greenpeace Science Labatory, we reveal that plastic + the climate emergency isn't a distant problem, we are affected right here in the UK.
